MARCH
15, 2005
As
many of you already know, we didn't get into Slamdance
2005.
In
my opinion
the
film
was
not ready yet but I did submit what we had and
in the end, it didn't make the cut. From an artistic
point of view, with only three months to editing, there
really wasn't enough time to make it shine. On the
flip side, from my generally optimistic
point of view (read delusional), I'm completely happy
to take another year to refine a cut that I, myself,
I'm happy with. I
will definitely submit again next year and our, semi-risqué,
sometimes chauvinistic, comedy will get another shot
to see the
light of day (Slamdance). Not only will it be better
for the effort but I have also herd Slamdance's most
short lived, Lilithfair loving, documentary picking,
long winded rejection letter writing programming director
has moved on. From the pictures from this years festival
it looks like Lady Slamdance ( Kathleen Mcinnis ) tried
to turn this years party film fest into a "Lord of
the Rings" convention. Not that we are going to make
it
in next
year, but
with Kathleen Mcinnis at the helm I wouldn't even want
to submit.
